Our Story
Starting Small
In 1994, Clay Sauer took a job as a warehouse manager to support his wife Shauna and their family. A year down the road he had the opportunity to buy the van and company. He grew up around trucks and was familiar with the transportation industry. One cargo van turned into more vehicles and, eventually semi trucks. As the business grew, Shauna joined and added two employees.
A Team of Problem-Solvers
Two employees turned into more, and soon there was an entire IST family. Clay and Shauna worked alongside their employees and, through trial and error, found a niche in the freight transportation world. Clay is a natural problem solver, and there was rarely a project he wouldn’t take on. Grit, hard work, and determination have made IST one of the best transportation and logistics companies in Idaho. Now, the new generation brings their business expertise to the table—the Sauer sons work in lockstep with their parents to take IST to the next level.
